This is a very good genuine antique French 19th century Napoleon III period made in or around Paris in the 1860s Gilt wood Over Mantle Mirror also suitable for over a Console or Commode.

The mirror is basically an elegant vertical rectangular frame with rounded top corners and with a nicely curved profile. The frame is embellished at the top with a symmetrical and elaborate applied crest decoration of stylised folage with opposed horizontal ‘S’ shaped folate scrolls. At the base there are vertical apposed ‘S’ scrolls at either side. The inner frame has a continuous chain of pearls beading.

Condition: Excellent for age with slight wear and complete with original gilding and silvered mirror plate.
