This is a high quality and compact size genuine antique English ( Georgian ) George III early 1800s folding Dining Table to seat six people in comfort and classic elegant style.
The table is of rectangular form and when not required for dining with the legs folded and the leaves dropped down it may be used as a handy side table.
The table is very well made from prestigious imported Cuban Mahogany of excellent figuring and very good colour. Cuban Mahogany is dense and heavy and is considered the King of Mahogany.
The form is that of a Sutherland Table in that the middle section is narrower than the two end drop down leaves which are desirably each made from one wide board with no joins, When the leaves are raised they are supported by two gate legs at either end and once moved into position not only support the leaves however also provide the correct spacing for the chairs.
The whole sits on six elegant slender turned tapered and ring embellished legs which terminate in all brass castor assemblies.
Condition: Excellent as is condition for its age.
