Antique English 19th century William IV Mahogany Chiffonier/ Sideboard / Cabinet.

This is a very high quality genuine antique English second quarter of the 19th century William IV period 1830 to 1837 Chiffonier / Sideboard / Side Cabinet made from prestigious imported Central American Mahogany. The Chiffonier is very heavy for its size due to its construction mainly from solid Mahogany.

The rectangular gallery shelf has a three sided timber gallery and is supported by the backboard and front French influence S shaped scrolls with raised carved Acanthus leaf decoration.

The cabinet section has a full width frieze drawer with a bull nose shaped front panel Below are two rectangular doors with applied rounded moldings surrounding the centre panels and eacm door molding has an elaborate top centre combination foliate and opposed scroll carving. On the outer sides of the doors are engaged flat vertical fluted pillasters with well carved foliate carved Corinthian style capitols.

The base is a simple platform base and below are four corner circular semi bun feet which are boldly reeded.

Condition: Very good - comensurate with age and use. We are selling as is however we can organise to have the Chiffionier professionally detailed if required.
