Antique English Victorian/ Edwardian inlaid Mahogany corner Display Cabinet

This is a superb quality example of a genuine antique English later Victorian period / early Edwardian period circa 1900 Corner Display Cabinet in the later 1700s George III Sheraton revival style. It is crafted from prestigious Mahogany and is profusely decoratively embellished with inlays, carvings and painting.

It comes in three sections. The top section comprising of the pediment and the cornice which is very well profiled and is embellished with continuous inlays of stylised floral swags, cross banding and line inlays. The small cavetto profile is hand painted.

The display cabinet section has a single full height door featuring typical George III influence profiled Astragal glazing bars, original glass panels and reveals a fabric lined interior with three serpentine shaped removable shelves.

The base section has a profusely foliate carved top edge moulding with a lower vertical horizontal panel with a complete row of vertical Satinwood inlaid ‘flutes’. At either end are raised surfaces with a circular stylised floral inlay. This base section finishes with a small carved protruding moulding. The cabinet is supported on three squared and tapered legs which are inlaid to match the horizontal panel on the base section and the legs terminate in squared ‘spade’ feet.

Condition: Excellent for age near original commensurate with age and use. There are a few small areas that would benefit from a professional detail and this will be professionally done and is included in the price.
