This is a very good example of a hard to find genuine antique English Victorian period circa 1855 Wellington chest. They are popular due to the small amount of floor space that they require however still offer lots of storage in drawers.

This one is superior in that it is made from imported prestige Rosewood of lovely honey colour and is well figured. This one has six flush fitting stacked and graduated drawers each with a pair of nicely turned drawer pull knobs.

With a normal chest of drawers not only does it require more floor space but they also require a lock on each drawer. With a Wellington Chest there is only one lock in an overlapping hinged flap that when in position and locked it prevents all the drawers from opening.
