Antique English early Victorian Rosewood circa 1850 What Not Stand / Etagere.

This is a very good example of a high quality genuine antique mid 19th century English early Victorian period four tier serpentine fronted What Not Stand also referred to as an Etagere. The whole is superbly crafted from prestigious imported Brazilian Rosewood of excellent figuring and mellowed deep honey colour.

All tiers are separated and supported by corner positioned opposed Barley Twist supports and the whole stands on four short well turned vertical feet which terminate in all brass bucket caster assemblies. The top tier has a three sided saw pierced carved gallery with scrolled foliate motifs and above each corner barley twist column there is an elegant finial. The second lowest tier has a full width serpentine fronted full width drawer which has a pair of well turned and nicely profiled drawer pull knobs.

Condition: Excellent for age and complete with its original hand French polished finish.
