Antique English George III Cuban Mahogany Pembroke Table.

This is a high quality example of a genuine antique English George III period circa 1800 ‘drop side’ Pembroke Table superbly crafted from rare Cuban Mahogany which is considered the finest Mahogany.

The top is basically rectangular in form with rounded corners when the leaves are raised. The superbly figured top also has a a multiple reeded edge molding.

The frieze at one end has a cock beaded drawer with bone diamond keyhole escutcheon and a pair of circular brass drawer pulls. At the other end is an identical set up however it is faux. On either side of the drawer is a decorative vertically reeded panel. The elegant turned and tapered legs terminate in their original all brass castor assemblies and thelegs are embellished with multiple ring turnings.

Being made from Cuban Mahogany the table is very heavy for its size.

Condition: very good and all original.
