These are an extremely rare find in that they have remained as a pair for almost 200 years and are of exceptionally fine quality.

They are a rare pair of genuine antique English later William IV / early Victorian Card Tables which may also be used as a pair of Side Tables either side of a fire place, either side of a door way, as a pair of hall tables, beneath a pair of windows or as a pair of bed side tables.

They are superbly crafted from the finest selected imported highly figured Central American Honduran Mahogany chosen for its superb figuring and they have been beautifully embellished by exceptionally well detailed quality carving on three sides of the shaped apron, on the central shaped turned central column and to the knees and feet of the quadruped cabriole legs which have their original all brass castor assemblies beneath.

The rectangular overhanging tops swivel and fold over to form small square tables and reveal cloth lined playing surfaces with Mahogany cross banded borders. The top and the shaped decorative frieze are supported an a central well profiled and decoratively carved embellished central column. From the vertical cylindrical base of the column flow the four cabriole legs.

All the carvings are profuse, raised and of the highest quality.

Condition: Both tables are excellent as they have been recently professionally refurbished.
