Antique English early Victorian period circa 1840 Rosewood Side Table.

A$2,985.00

This is a lovely and very well made genuine antique 19th century English early Victorian period Rectangular Side Table with a full width flush mounted frieze drawer. The table top canterlevers the frieze section and has decorative carved French ‘C’ shaped scroll support brackets at all corners of the frieze section. The frieze has a full width flush mounted frieze drawer and the whole top section is supported at each end by a pair of slender well turned vertical columns that rise from French curved and tapered cabriole legs which terminate in well carved animal paw feet that have their small all brass castor assemblies beneath. The two bases are connected by a well turned elegant stretcher and have well turned and doldly profiled finials on the outer side of the legs.

The top section is made from quality Mahogany and is finished in exotic prestigious imported Brazilian Rosewood which has now mellowed to a lovely honey colour. The support brackets, columns, side finials cross stretcher and legs are all crafted from solid Rosewood.
