A$3,750.00

This is a very good quality genuine mid 19th century antique English early Victorian period circa 1840 - 1850 Card Table which may also be used as a Side Table or as a Hall Table if desired.

This Table is superbly crafted from selected well figured solid cuts and feature veneers of exotic and desirable prestigious imported Brazilian Rosewood now mellowed to a lovely honey colour.

The over hanging rectangular top swivels and folds over to rest on the frieze section which has an internal storage area for cards and other games. When opened the top reveal a circular inset baize playing surface surrounded by Rosewood. The recessed apron is shaped and profusely embellished with carved applied French influence ‘C’ and ‘S’ shaped scrolls to the front. The turned and well profiled centre column is boldly carved as are the knees and scrolled feet of the quadruped cabriole legs which are complete with their original all brass castor assemblies.

The carving reflects the revival of the popular French Louis XV style.
